A fashion shoot in Byron Bay.
More "summer" memories when I escaped the UK weather to stay in Australia's beautiful Byron Bay. I was lucky enough to meat the talented Charlotte Coker who has just launched her blog: A Beautiful Weirdo. It features weird and wacky people like you and me, who love dressing up in original, stylish clothes. We had a great day shooting with photographer Renae Saxby at the Tree House On Belongil, finishing up with the obligatory cocktail - or two! You can read the interview I did with Charlotte and see more fabulous photographs on: abeautifulweirdo.com
Meanwhile, here are some of my favourite pics. to wet your appetite! All the clothes are my own bought from my favourite shops in and around Byron, which specialise in all things retro, vintage & stylish! Everything was cheap as chips, as we say in the UK, which is why I came back home with an extra suitcase!
Dress, sunnies & scarf from my favourite vintage & retro shop, Trash, in Byron Bay.
Retro, vintage scarf and top from Trash at Byron Bay and the amazing trousers are from the Byron Bay Sunday Market. Those babies are so going to the next Festival I visit! Sunnies are my own original 50s frames given to me by a dear friend.
Another gorgeous vintage dress, this one is actually 80 years old, from America and I found it in a very retro, stylish little shop called Brown Paper Vintage in Mullumbimby.
I just had the best time shopping in vintage shops and market stalls during my stay down under and urge you to visit any flea market, op shop, charity shop, vintage fair and retro store that you can find: you are bound to find something that is a one off original, a bargain and an outfit you will treasure forever.
