My new Garden Room/Guest Room.

It took 3 months of building, barking (Jack was a nightmare, barking at every noise!) and buying stuff for my new guest room en suite. The Garden Room has finally welcomed it's first visitors and it's so gorgeous that I may even Air BnB it next year!  Thought I would share the pics with you of some of the bargains and recycled stuff I managed to find, from as many independents as I could source. You really can do style on a budget, I hope you agree!

Before & After, thank you PPMS, Brighton Marina, for the fantastic, on-time, on-budget and almost completely pain-free build!

Entrance from the house to the room, loving the high ceilings and roof lights.  Brilliant architecture & design by John Tadman. 

Art by Pippa Cunningham from the Naked Eye Gallery, bed with storage from Loaf made from re-cycled wood, beautiful cushion covers bought for a song from Deer Meets Wolf in Byron Bay, trunk and bed side tables also made from recycled wood from JUGs in Brighton, the bedside lamps are from John Lewis for a mere £25 each and the bed cover was a present from Mexico.

The wet room was done on a real budget but doesn't look like it!  The tiles are Travertine fromTopps Tiles, the very cheapest of the cheap!  But be warned, the labour cost more because they were difficult to cut! The sink, shower & loo etc. were all from Victoria Plum, the special wet room mat from Grimeford Mill was only £23 a meter & the mirror I picked up on my travels in Tunisia.

Some awesome bits and pieces have finished the room beautifully and very reasonably: the floor is China Blue vinyl, from The Colour Flooring Company, and is practical, hard wearing, lovely to walk on, really reasonable and looks fabulous.  The chair is from Bowerbird in Brighton,  (£49),  the little side table was found at Brighton Marina Giant Car Boot Sale, £40, the pretty kettle from Asda , only £19, the peg rail from The Painted Broom Company saves so much space (£75) and was much cheaper than any wardrobe, and art by Holly, which I think just brings the whole room together.  

And finally, the exteriors. I am sure you'll agree it really does bring the outside in, and you can even see the sea from the bed!  I managed to find the last bits needed for the garden on sale too: theBistro set ,found on-line, a complete bargain at £39.99 and the blue bench from Wyvale Garden Centre in Lewes. 

I want to say a huge thank you to Jane Lee, a very good friend of mine who is an Interior Designer.  She was brilliant at thinking out of the box and came up with great ideas such as the peg rail, the flooring, the bed & even what colours for the bi-folds.
