How to enjoy gigs on your own!

As a single, at the moment, I have grown used to going to the occasional movie on my own & travelling solo.  I also live on my own, with my fur baby, and grew up as an "only" child till my brother suddenly appeared when I was nine! This has made me fiercely independent and very happy with my own company, apart from eating dinner out on my own which I have ranted about here.

A healthy summer salad that takes 2 minutes!

You probably know by now that I love quinoa and that the kid folk at Quinola Mothergrain are enabling me to feed my addiction with a regular supply of red, black and plain quinoa. I'm not just saying it's the best I've ever eaten 'cause it's free, it really is the nicest quinoa I have ever cooked - and I have done vats of the stuff in the past - and this one never looks like frogs spawn or goes all slimy like so many others do!

A lovely day out in Rye, East Sussex.

Visiting Rye seems to be becoming an annual event!  I went with a friend last year and this month I took a friend visiting from Australia.  Yet again, we had the very best of days.  Enjoy the photo which will, hopefully, remind you of this beautiful little town or inspire you to add it to your "to do" list!

Goodwood: DJs, dancing & dressing up.

You probably know by now that, despite my age, I love "raving".  Nothing makes me happier than loud dance music DJ'd by a Famous where I can dance my socks off and forget my ageing bones!  Fortunately, one of my oldest school friends, Dalia, also loves dancing and, even more fortunately for me, she's a Goodwood Member of the Richmond Enclosure, which means we can have a rave night in total comfort!

Festivals & gigs at my age!

You probably know me well enough by now to accept that I refuse to act my age, love festivals, and can't stop dancing if the music's right!  However, many my age (well over 50) don't like camping, even glamping or boutique, and are put off by the whole thing: the queues, the loos, and the youngsters.....despite the fact that many of the bands playing are well over 40, 50, & well beyond! To camp or not camp, that is the question.

How to tie a headscarf.

I am sure you saw a couple of "summer" blogs I posted in April, while we all waited for summer to actually arrive in the UK.  Still waiting!  I enjoyed a lovely collaboration with East Clothing, who sent me all sorts of goodies out to Australia to photograph whilst I was there.
