Magical Marrakech, take a spare suitcase!
II haven't visited this city for over 30 years (why?) but it's now a firm favourite short haul destination for me, for the shopping & eating, let alone the warm sunshine in the middle of winter. Here are just a few of our Marrakech highlights and top tips.......
Vintage Shopping in Brighton
I was thrilled to pieces to spend the day with one of my favourite bloggers, Sara Delaney, Notes from a Stylist, mooching around Brighton sharing my love of all things vintage. Oh, and did I mention she's also one of the best photographers I know so was an absolute delight to pose for. And you know how I love to pose!
I get a makeover & new makeup for the Over 50s.
I went to the Look Fabulous Forever headquarters in London, without a scrap of makeup on, apart from my tinted eyebrows (to cover the grey hairs) and a tiny bit of eyeliner. I couldn't wait to try this makeup & get some colour on my cheeks but must admit that I was not looking forward to sitting in a chair for ages having my makeup done for me. After years of working in TV and, more recently, photo shoots, I get fidgety and impatient.
Another bargain, another vintage dress!
You know how much I love rooting around at Vintage Fairs and retro shops whenever I can. So it was with absolute pleasure that I forced myself to go around all of Brighton's vintage stores as a recce for a blog coming up on vintage shopping in Brighton.
My first Podcast interview, for the U.S.
I am so proud to have been interviewed by the lovely Elaine Benoit for her podcast this week. Her husband actually found me on Instagram and we finally did a Skype interview a few weeks ago. It was huge fun, so if you want to hear me talking the hind legs off a donkey, telling Elaine about my chain-smoking, hard-drinking days in TV and Radio, how I got into health and why I don't feel invisible anymore, then you should enjoy this podcast.
Bournemouth, Part 2. A great mini-break out of season.
Being England, it alternated between cold, lashing rain and somewhere that resembled the French Riviera. However, we found plenty of really awesome things to do, apart from eating and drinking, whatever the weather was doing, so I am putting this destination on my "great places to go out of season" along with Rye, Hastings and, of course, Brighton where I live!
