How to enjoy quinoa!
I have always found quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) a bit of a dull grain albeit a highly nutritious and healthy one. But, thanks to the Seasalt Cafe in Clovelly, (my favourite beach) in Sydney recently, I discovered black quinoa which is way more tasty and crunchy than its slightly slimy white cousin! Cheats smoothie!
Are you time short at the moment? I certainly am! The run up to Christmas, whether you are going away or staying at home, is just manic isn't it? It's also very cold in the UK at the moment so the thought of juicing green veg is just not making my body feel happy, let alone the time it takes. So, I have been doing a very lazy, quick version of my usual health packed smoothie which I hope will help you too get through the busy period, and beyond, with all the nutrients your body needs to fight exhaustion and stress. And it takes no time at all.
THE AGE OF HAPPINESS FESTIVAL - 2016
For the 2nd year running, last week, I was invited to speak at The Age of Happiness, Well Over 50, Festival in Budva, Montenegro. It was so good to see so many Russian friends from last year's conference, as well as many new delegates, and to share my top tips on healthy 'old' age with nutrition.

I have never been squeamish about trying unusual foods. I was eating snails in garlic butter (l'escargots) in France at the age of 4, strange child! But when I came across a brand new protein, health bar, that was not only wheat-free, dairy-free, but made from cricket flour, I got really excited about it.
